The little brat showed some rib-tickling rhyme talent, and I told her to concoct some more. My request could have gone with the Wind like thousands of others that sail from my direction to hers and then out of the window to the other realms. But for some reason, she paid heed.
I told her to pen them down. And as luck would have it, she did. I tossed random, mundane topics at her. Sometimes, just to get her off my back. But she came up with an amusing, tongue-in-cheek take on all of those ordinary subjects.
Her words offered me rare peeks into the parallel world she inhabited, and I couldn’t get enough. I prodded her for more. And she conceded.
Before I knew it, the poems were rolling off her tongue and tumbling down one after another. At times, I wasn’t fast enough to catch them. But I definitely tried. I rounded them up (as many as I could) and marched them off to a publisher. These sprightly creatures were housed in a comely home by Ukiyoto Publishing, one adorned with colours and vibrant pictures that suited their personality.
Of course, she is on top of the world and can’t stop gushing about it. The confidence is booming. As usual, our home is echoing with her songs and the rhymes she spins in the blink of an eye. The book sits proudly in a corner, breathing into the magic spun by its pint-sized creator.
